Early Dismissals & Non-School Days

Stepping Stones program provides full day activities on some early dismissal and non-school days, including: Spring break and some federal holidays. Age-appropriate activities, arts and crafts, group games, sports are incorporated into our everyday activities.

Daily Routine of Activities

Below is a sample of the activities offered at Stepping Stones:

● Creative Arts: An area where children can express themselves through drama, drawing, painting, and dance. To promote creative expression, weekly dance and karate classes are offered to Stepping Stones students at no additional cost.
● Literacy: A bookworm’s paradise where children can find inspiration and endless adventure through the written word and literacy-based instructional activities.
● Math and Construction: A place where children can solve math problems and practice spatial awareness through building bridges, towers, etc.
● Puzzles and Games: An activity area that features cooperative learning games, challenging brainteasers, and puzzles for students to solve as a team.
● Science: An area where children can experiment, explore, and discover the secrets of the scientific world. An individualized, inquiry-based STEM enrichment program is offered to Stepping Stones students at no cost.
In addition to a rich variety of activities, the Stepping Stones curriculum features the following enrichment programs:

● Homework Assistance: Whether it’s a science project, spelling test, or book report, Stepping Stones teachers support all child in completing homework, which frees up precious time in the evenings for families to be together.
● Personal Development: For older students, the before and aftercare program includes activities to promote social-emotional development including role playing skits on daily pressures, bullying discussions, internet safety, and similar developmentally appropriate topics for pre-teens.
● Movement Programs: As mentioned above, Stepping Stones provides free karate and dance lessons to students at no additional cost. Students ages 3 to 13 are welcome to participate in these weekly classes.
