Stepping Stones School

Families & Schools Love Stepping Stones

Stepping Stones Child Development Centers was established in 2002 by Jahmaah & Raysa Hardy to fill the desperate needs of busy families by providing a fun & safe environment that’s affordable. Through year-round programs students receive academic support and are engaged in a wide variety of recreational activities.

Currently Stepping Stones is partnered with 2 Public School Districts, servicing 6 schools. Teachers and staff are employed with the same diversity, commitment, and passion to enrich the community they serve. Over the past 20 years, Stepping Stones has flourished to service over 500 students annually.

Skilled Educators

Stepping Stones Child Development Centers takes great pride in providing an extraordinary program of highly trained staff and qualified teachers. Our staff are carefully selected based on their education, previous teaching experience, love for children, and ability to bond and effectively communicate with students and their parents. All staff are carefully screened and personally interviewed by the Executive Directors. References are required and verified. Stepping Stones staff have various levels of experience and education. Teachers in our program are required to have some education or work experience closely related to the field.

We realize that we are only as good as our teachers and staff, so we only hire the best and maintain the best! This high standard is one of many that sets us apart from the rest.

Stepping Stones Child Development Centers goes through great lengths to ensure the safety of the students we serve. Therefore, all teachers and staff are trained and screened in the following areas:

  • Criminal History Record Information (CHRI) by New Jersey State Police (NJSP)
  • Fingerprinted by Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)
  • Child Abuse Record Information by New Jersey Department of Children and Families
  • Pass a Tuberculosis and Physical Screening
  • First Aid and CPR Certified
  • Participate in yearly state mandated trainings related to children growth & development, positive guidance and discipline & health and safety procedures
